The Town Green Inn’s Adam Lovett wins the Australian Pub Porkstar Competition

 The Town Green Inn’s head chef Adam Lovett secured his place as one of the first three winners of the ‘Pub Porkstar Competition’. The competition, judged by Mitch Edwards, Food Service Marketing Manager for Australian Pork Limited, received an ‘impressive range of recipes showcasing a diversity of treatments and some good seasonal show stoppers that are indicative of what is really making hotel restaurants and bistros very credible places to dine.’

 

The Town Green Inn’s Adam Lovett unleashed a pork loin steak in the guise of pork with pears and prosciutto.

Adam Lovett, Town Green Inn Head Chef said; “We source our Pork from the home of the High Country, nestled in the rolling hills of the lush Murray River Region. High Country is a premium range of 100% Australian Grain Fed Pork which guarantees sumptuous pork that is flavoursome, succulent, lean and fresh. This quality Australian produce combines powerfully with the sensational sweet and savoury combination of this recipe that is easy to prepare and tastes flavourful.”

 

Pork, which is one of the most-commonly consumed meats worldwide, enjoyed both for its versatility and flavour is a popular item on the Town Green Inn menu. The Town Green Inn, known in the area for its wholesome, hearty and flavoursome meals, is a popular location for lunch and dinner diners on the esplanade front property.

The Pub Porkstar Competition is an Australia wide competition which will continue for the remainder of 2010. Like the Town Green Inn’s Adam Lovett, deserving winners will be Pub chefs who can bend their minds to deliver examples of some favourite pub pork recipes. Winners will take home a set of precision German knives from F.A Porsche.
