Plantation Hotel, heavily involved with the Coffs Cup

MEDIA RELEASE: 21st August, 2009

Coffs Harbour Cup has traditionally been one of the biggest race meets in country NSW and this year was no different with thousands of people coming out in high fashion on this beautiful north coast winters day.  Plantation Hotel, on of NLGs larger entertainment venues, has had an affiliation with the race meet for many years and again was showcased as Coffs Harbour’s premium hotel.

Every race on the day was tightly fought and there was a local connection to the winning horse of the main race, the Coffs Cup, “Legendary Man” who said it was like a dream come true.  “For our little group its like winning the Melb Cup” said part owner Warren Skinner “You know, the great thing about him is he's got a heart as big as himself and good horses have got to have good tickers,” Skinner concluded.

After the races had completed, the party certainly didn’t with nearly 1000 of the race goers venturing back into town and to the Plantation. With additional fashion parades and quality entrainment from Sydney DJ duo the 808s, this fashionable crowd partied on to the wee hours.

Channel 9 personality Scott Cam and Ex NRL stars, Luke Ricketson, Gordon Tallis & Laurie Dailey, who were the Coffs Cup special guests were also seen enjoying themselves  back at the hotel.

A day that “stops a town”, really looks set for bigger and better things in years to come.
