ROYAL Hotel Ryde are getting hairy this Movember for their third year of support for the campaign.
The hotel’s aim is to mobilise customers in raising awareness around men’s health issues.
Venue manager Kirk Greenland said Movember had become an important part of the hotel’s calender.
“It’s a way for us to mobilise the community around this important issue and instigate discussion and fundraising,” he said.
Since the campaign was introduced to the hotel in 2009, $1094 has been raised for the Movember Foundation. This year the hotel is aiming to raise more than $550.
“Our involvement has created a real connection with our community,” Mr Greenland said. “Pubs are a place where men generally feel comfortable and therefore provides a platform for raising discussion and awareness around the often shunned issue of men’s health.”
A range of fundraising activities will be held throughout November including barbecues, raffles and gold coin donations.
On Friday, November 25, the hotel will host their Mo Men Party, which will round out their month of fundraising activities.
There will be a barbecue and live entertainment from 4pm. For more information visit nlghotelgroup.com.au or call 9809 5956.
